Smartphones can be a real pain

Some smartphone users can develop pain in their hands, especially after a day of texting.

Physical therapists say overuse can even lead to injury. They recommend smartphone users keep health and wellness in mind:

  • Take frequent breaks.
  • Write fewer and shorter texts and social media posts.
  • Avoid thumb typing. Use other fingers, if possible.
  • Don’t bend or flex your wrists.

Some simple exercises can also help prevent problems. Watch the above Salem Health video for more details.

Be a smart  smartphone user!
